MOUNT GAY, SAILING & THE HAT SHORT FILM ON NATIONAL SAILING HALL OF FAME VIRTUAL FILM LIBRAY
Annapolis, MD – MOUNT GAY RUM has had a long association with sailing dating back to the 17th Century. Gary Jobson has produced a short film glimpse, MOUNT GAY, Sailing & The Hat for the National Sailing Hall of Fame Virtual Film Library at www.nshof.org.
Legend has it that MOUNT GAY RUM became the sailor’s drink because it proved the sailor’s skill. Barbados, home of MOUNT GAY, was the most difficult island from which to return to the European mainland. Sailors had to prove they had been there by bringing back a barrel of MOUNT GAY RUM. In modern times, the link between MOUNT GAY Rum and sailors has become even stronger. One of the most cherished mementoes of the 160 regattas around the world sponsored by MOUNT GAY is the famous red cap. MOUNT GAY continues to play a focal point in yacht racing and cruising and has become as much a part of the sailing scene as the wind. |
