Register Now for Regional Consortium Meeting in New Orleans PDF Print

The Consortium on Learning Math & Science through Sailing will hold a REGIONAL Meeting on Friday, October 12th in New Orleans, hosted by Southern Yacht Club. The meeting will run from 11 AM – 3 PM.

The program is designed to share the best practices of Consortium members with schools, local government, yacht clubs and community sailing groups from across the Gulf Region as well as those attending the NSHOF Induction Ceremony on October 14th at Southern Yacht Club. Registration for this meeting is $20 per person and includes lunch.

The meeting will include a presentation by Susan Nahmias, Education Director of the National Sailing Center & Hall of Fame and Consortium Coordinator, on the teaching math & science through sailing programs of Consortium member organizations.

After lunch, John Manard will brief the meeting on the vision for Community Sailing of New Orleans as the Municipal Harbor of New Orleans is rebuilt.

In addition, the meeting will provide the opportunity for Gulf Region participants to ask questions and share programming ideas. Regional meetings earlier this year in San Francisco, Berkeley and Mystic generated great dialogue and many new programming ideas.

Registration deadline is October 9th.

Questions should be directed to NSHOF Education.
